Privacy policy ​

Preview Cam does not collect, store or transmit any personal data.

This program will not transfer any information to other networked systems unless specifically requested by the user.

What the application does with your data ​

  • Camera video is read from the camera you select and shown in the overlay on your own screen. It is never recorded, saved to disk or sent anywhere by Preview Cam.
  • Virtual camera. If you switch on the "Virtual camera for OBS" setting, the same picture is made available — on your computer only, through shared memory — to applications on that computer that open the "Preview Cam" camera device (for example OBS Studio). What those applications do with it is governed by their own policies.
  • Settings (selected camera, window position and size, hotkeys, language and similar preferences) are stored in a file on your computer under %APPDATA%\uz.nurafshon\Preview Cam. They never leave your computer.
  • Microphone. Preview Cam never opens a microphone.

Network access ​

Preview Cam makes no network connections. It has:

  • no telemetry or analytics,
  • no crash reporting,
  • no accounts or sign-in,
  • no automatic update checks,
  • no advertising.

The only links to the internet are the project and donation links at the bottom of the settings window. They do nothing until you click them, and then they simply open the address in your default web browser.

Third parties ​

The application contains no third-party services or SDKs that receive data.

Two things outside the application have their own privacy terms:

  • This website and the downloads are hosted by GitHub (GitHub Pages and GitHub Releases). GitHub may log technical information such as your IP address when you visit or download; see the GitHub Privacy Statement.
  • The donation link leads to taps.uz, a separate service with its own terms.

Removing your data ​

Uninstalling Preview Cam offers to delete the settings file. You can also delete the folder %APPDATA%\uz.nurafshon\Preview Cam yourself at any time.
